SolidWorks Formula SAE Design Project
www.solidworks.com SolidWorks SAE Design Project teaches students how to use SolidWorks software to help design a vehicle for the Formula SAE competition. Skills and lessons use provided SAE vehicle example parts, but the techniques can also be applied to other SAE competitions. The SAE Design Project also provides skills for students in engineering mechanics, heat transfer, machine design, fluid dynamics, and senior design projects. SolidWorks SAE Design Project is available to sponsored Formula Student, Baja, Aero, Clean Snowmobile, and other SAE competitions. For more visit : www.solidworks.com
Pillow Talk – An Interaction Design Project
Pillow Talk is a project aiming to network long distance lovers. Each lover has a pillow and a chest sensor which they wear to bed at night. Their chest sensor wirelessly transmits and communicates with the other persons pillow. When each person goes to bed, their lovers pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your lover. The result is an intimate interaction between two lovers, regardless of the distance between them.
Swinburne University – Stool Design Project
2nd Year Design Students at Swinburne Uni were each given a sheet of Xanita’s lightweight X-Board Kraft board, weighing 7 times less than MDF, and had to design a stool for a short-term event. Stools would be disposed of as waste paper post-event. Unlike cheap cardboard, X-Board Kraft has a unique high-crush strength honeycomb core with strong kraft liners sandwiched to both sides, presenting unique challenges to students working mostly with kraft knives as opposed to CNC machinery. Notwithstanding this, the students generated some amazing designs and enjoyed working full scale with no formaldehyde dust in the workshop!
Mechanical Engineering Egg Design Project
this is my and kyle’s freshman year mechanical engineering design project. we were supposed to design a machine that carried an egg under a 25cm bridge and over a 50cm wall. we did it, just as planned.
